The first season in Vietnam turned up 6 different Orthetrum species. The extremely common O. sabina, common O. neglectum, O. triangulare and somewhat less common, but still common O. glaucum, the apparently more peculiar to its habitat O. luzonicum and O. chrysis, only encountered in Cuc Phuong.
Here I want to introduce the two reddish species. If unwary, it is possible to overlook O. chrysis, but the fact that it has a red face sets it readily apart from O. neglectum.
